In action Tuesday night Anderson scored 11 and had big rebounds for the Indians. Poster was impressive from the field. Senior

had a good game on his outside shooting. Scappoose took a quick 10 point lead, and never looked back. They won
the game on their aggressive defense and took advantage of their height advantage. Scappoose will next meet Pleasant Hill
Thursday, 3/9/00 at 12:30 p.m.
Other news:
Scappoose Girls lost to Phoenix, 46 to 43, and were eliminated from the tourney.

Astoria girls lost to Marist. That was the No. 1 (Marist) vs. the No 2 (Astoria) teams in the state.

Scappoose took an early lead and maintained it throughout the ball game, and really
pulled away in the third quarter. Scappoose closed out three of the four periods with
buzzer-beating shots. Scoring was not just from Anderson and Poster. Their other teammates
were looking for their shot and when they saw it they took it. Scappoose had a lot of points
off of offensive rebounds, including many by Junior Derek Anderson.
Molalla scoring leader Ryan Mead was held to seven points total, only 2 in the first half,
by Scappoose senior Ryan Poster. Scoring by Molalla players David Bratcher and Jensen kept Molalla in the game.
Scappoose moves on to play Vale, 8 pm March 7, 2000, in Corvallis at Gill Coliseum, Ralph Miller Court.
