Dear Mrs. Huffman,
My name is Nikki. Well, that is just my nick name, my real name is Julia. I have short light brown hair. Sometimes it is nice to have long hair. Here's how I found out.
One sunny afternoon about eight years ago when I was four, my whole family and I were out by the pool playing around. I decided to take off my life jacket and sit by the edge of the pool. Well, you guess what happened next. My older brother's friend's foot hit me and I got pushed in. Then about one minute later my other brother Gabe pulled me out by my pony tail.
The next few weeks I wouldn't go near the pool. My family finally convinced me to go back in the pool and face my fear. I'm really glad that they did because I finally got taught how to swim. Well I guess that I have learned a lesson. I never sit on the edge of the pool or take off my life jacket. That's why I like long hair. I decided that since I know how to swim now I could cut if off. So that's why I have short hair.
