Dear Mrs. Huffman,
As you know my name is Krista. I sit near the door , I have light brown hair, and I wear a black Scappoose jacket. I like school and my favorite subjects are Math, Spelling, and Reading. I play one sport it is softball except I might not play this year because I don't really know any of the coaches.
Well, first of all I would like to tell you about the time I left my dog in the garage over-night. First I'll give you the facts; my dog Texas was howling because there was a wreck and the police sirens were going and his ears are sensitive to the high pitched sound. We had a complaint from just one of our neighbors and my parents were gone in LaGrande deer hunting, and my sister and I were staying at my grandmas that lives next door to us. Here is what happened:
It was late one night Tex was howling and as I said we had a problem with one of our neighbors, so my grandma told me to go put him in the garage so I did as I was told. He stayed in the garage over-night . ....... Next day I went to check on him and as soon as I opened the door I saw a big mess. So I cleaned it up it took me over an hour to clean it up. I was not a happy camper. That is how it happened. Well, that is what happened. Oh, I forgot to tell you Texas is a Labrador Retriever, and I have three dogs.
Sincerely,
Krista
The Cutest Cat
Winter, 1999
Hi! My cats name is Boots. Boots is a male cat, and he is two years old. I got him when he was six weeks old. My family and I got him and his brother from our neighbor.
Boots is a black and white cat with a stripe on his leg which is white, he has orangish yellowish eyes, and very long whiskers.
My cat is the cutest cat because of his personality. Sometimes he acts like a dog and retrieves a mouse. He will run around the house and act like a dog or something is chasing him. It is really funny, although you would have to of been there.
One time Boots was in the garage and he jumped onto the freezer and he slipped on something then fell off. Then he started making a very loud long meowing sound, so I ran into the garage, tried to calm him down but it didn't work, so I had my dad calm him down. Then Boots was back to his normal, but weird - self.
I think he must have hit his head on the floor pretty hard because cats don't usually retrieve mice, or run around when nothing is chasing them . . . or do they? That is what makes my cat the cutest.

Camp Collins
May, 1999
This year the 6th grade is going to Camp Collins, an outdoor school, in Sandy, Oregon and on the Sandy River. The reason the whole 6th grade is going is because of how much money we got with the fund raisers. But not only Petersen school 6th graders are going, the 6th grade kids that go to Sauvie Island School are also going to outdoor school.
At Camp Collins there are like obstacle courses where you try and figure out how to get all the people in your study group over a big wall. We also get to go on little hikes in the woods.
At Camp Collins they have shower stalls so we can take showers for the three days and two nights that we will be there.
