Honus and Me
by Kendall
The two main settings are in Louisville, Kentucky and in Pittsburg, 1909. There many other settings, Amanda Young, an old lady that lives next door asked Joe Stoshack (Stosh) to clean her attic. He came home to his house from the baseball he was playing.
Stosh is about 12, maybe 13 years old and loves collecting sports cards especially baseball cards. Stosh isn't that good at baseball though.
Stosh found a mint condition Honus Wagner card (very expensive) when Amanda Young asked Stosh to clean out her attic for money, he agreed and started. When he was looking though boxes he found the card.
My opinion of what I think Stosh will do with the card is that Joe will tell Amanda that he found a Honus Wagner card in her attic and ask her if he may keep it, if he could he wouldn't feel guilty. If Amanda said no then he wouldn't feel guilty.
Stosh meets Honus when he is holding the Honus card and sort of falls asleep. When he wakes up he just sort of appears.
1909 wasn't that much different from today except for vehicles, food prices, ticket prices, the baseball dugouts, baseballs, and there wasn't very much hot water.
I like the author's skill of time travel because it made the story more interesting. You should get this book and read it, it is a great story.
Honus Paper

The setting of this story is well there is more than 1 setting. One of the settings are Stosh's house thats here he lives. Another setting is the world series ball field which is where the really good teams played.
Stosh is a young boy about 12 who did not have very much money, and his parents are divorced. He loves collecting cards. He is always trying to find ways to make money.
As I said Stosh is always trying to make money And his mom came home from Miss Young's she told him Ms. Young needed her attic to be cleaned out, and that Ms. Young would pay him $5.00. Stosh had been almost done when a box of paper and open and scattered all over the attic. Just as Stosh began to put the papers back in the box he spotted a certain baseball card.
I thought Stosh would give the card back to Amanda because that just seemed like the right thing to do.
When Stosh is going to bed he wishes he could ask him questions and then he goes to sleep and when he wakes up there is a bulky man sitting in his chair. Stosh thinks he is dreaming so he plays along.
1909 was pretty alike except thins were a lot cheaper than they are now, and people talked about different things, but over all they were not much different.
I think he is a good writer when he is trying to make it interesting but sometimes it is kind of boring, but he was a pretty good author and book writer.

The year was 1987. It was in Louisville, Kentucky. It began at a baseball field with him and some kids playing baseball. Then he went home and went to Mrs. Young's house.
Joe was 13 years old he was bowlegged and funny looking kids made fun of him they called him elephant ears. He collects cards.
Joe is cleaning the attic for Mrs. Young she said she would give him $5 if he cleaned her attic. He had some paper and he drop then he saw a card. It was a Honus Wagner card. It was worth ½ a million dollars. I think Joe will keep it he found it and he's a card collector.
They went to final game of the world series. A guy named Ty Cobb hit him and he got a big gouge in his hand so he asked Joe if he would play for him he hit the ball.
Every thing is 1909 was cheap box seats were $1.25 bleachers were .75 plans were being made game 7 of the world series.
I think the author did a very good writing this book Honus and Me.

The setting where a boy named Joe Stoshack or "Stosh" lived in a nice set house in the early 1980's. It was in Louisville, Kentucky. It was kind of like it is now but a little different fashion wise. Baseball cards were very popular around the 1980's.
Stosh or Joe collected baseball cards. He was in the seventh grade. He lived in Louisville, Kentucky. His neighbor Amanda Young gives him $10.00 to clean her attic. He plays baseball, too.
Stosh found a Honus Wagner card in his neighbor Miss Amanda Young's attic while cleaning it for the money. He kept the card.
I predicted Stosh would give the card back. I was wrong because he didn't give it back until later on in the story when it gets torn up.
Stosh meets Honus Wagner by him sleeping with the baseball card. He traveled through time while sleeping with the card. And when he woke up that morning he was in Honus's house back in 1909.
1909 was very weird because all most everything was made of wood. At the ballpark the seats are box seats. Women's hats were huge.
I like how the author's attitude towards writing the book was. It was a nice book. His skill was great because he kept our attention. Mine at least.
