Aegisthus:

The son of Thyestes by his own daughter, the Greek King Aegisthus carried on the feud between Thyestes and his brother Atreus. He succeeded in seducing Queen Clytemnestra, the wife of King Agamemnon, while he was away at the Trojan War. Aegisthus and Clytemnestra killed Agamemnon on his return to the land of Argos, Aegisthus was then killed by Orestes, Agamemnon's son.



Agamemnon:

The most important descendants of Atreus. Agamemnon was the leader of the Greeks in the Trojan War, since he was overlord of Greece. Before the expedition he killed a deer sacred to Artemis, who sent a plaque on the Greek camp at Aulis, and a very strong wind that prevented them from sailing.

The priests advised Agamemnon to sacrifice his daughter Iphigeneia to Artemis which he did with much resistance. Clytemnestra never forgave him for sacrificing her daughter to the goddess Artemis.



Electra:

Daughter of Greek leader Agamemnon. She urged her brother Orestes to avenge their fathers death by killing their mother Clytemnestra and her lover Aegisthus. She eventually married Pylades Orestes's friend.



Clytemnestra:

Wife of the Greek leader Agamemnon, seduced by Agamemnon's cousin Aegisthus in revenge for the treatment of his father by Agamemnon's father Atreus. She helped him murder Agamemnon on his return from the Trojan War. She hated him for scrificing her daughter Iphiginia. Orestes Avenged his fathers death by murdering his mother and Aegisthus.



Chrysothemis:

Daughter of Agamemnon and sister of Electra and Orestes. She wouldn't take part in the killing of Clytemnestra and Aegisthus.



Atreus:

King of Mucenae in Greece, he was the son of Pelops and Hippodameia.



Iphigenia:

Daughter of Greek king Agamemnon. Agamemnon sacrificed her at Aulis to appease Artemis, so that the Greek fleet could set sail to Troy. This part of the curse on the house of Atreus; because of this Clytemnestra, Agamemon's wife murdered him on his return from Troy. In some versions Iphigenia was snatched away by Artemis to become her priestess at Tauris, where all strangers were sacrificed to Artemis. Iphigenia's brother Orestes came later to avenged his fathers death.



Pylades:

Orestes friend that helped avenge Orestes's fathers death. He eventually married Electra Orestes's sister.



Orestes:

Son of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra in Greek myth with his sisters Electra and Chrysothemis. He avenged his father's death by killing his mother and her lover Aegisthus. For this he was persued by the Furies to Athens, where a formal trial was held. With Apollo speaking for him while the Furies claimed him as there rightful prey.
