Camp Collins

Camp Collins was a very fun place to go. I had a lot of fun at Camp Collins. In my essay I will tell you about 3 main topics and they are rock climbing, the food, and the counselers. Here are my paragraphs.
We went rock climbing and I had to go first because the people in front of me chickened out. I made it all the way to the top and I hit the bell. My group said that I was the fastest person up to the top. I did slip off once because a rock spinned that I was stepping on so I spinned off. That was my first time rock climbing and I'm glad I got to go. I had a good time climbing.
At Camp Collins we had breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food was actually good. My favorite thing they served was their rolls. They were really good especially the ones with cheese int he middle. I also liked the sausege they served at breakfast. It was nice and juicy. The food was ok and I liked it.
The counselers at Camp Collins were cool. I liked Duya and Spider the most though. I never got to be with the lady that had an accent, but she seemed pretty cool. Spider would always yell HEY, HEY, HEY to get our attention and we had to yell that back. All the counselors were really nice and fun to be with.
I think Camp Collins was a good expirience. I had a lot of fun there and I learned a lot of new games. I hope more 6th grade classes get to go to outdoor school. Camp Collins was awesome!
Camp Collins

At Camp Collins we had lots of fun and we played games a lot. On the bus ride there I got to sit by Colby and we read his magazine and copied names from it. There were many weird names .
When we got there we got to see all of the sites that were there at Camp Collins. Life and Death is the best game in the universe! I tagged 34 people!
Their food was very well served. We ate lots of meat loaf there.

Camp Collins Camp Collins is a wonderful place. There are many things to do there too. Here's some of those activities. The camps moto and sayings, the food and meals, and one of the many activities called the Trust Fault. Camp Collins is a neat place to go to school at. At camp there are many things to do, but they all revolve around one concept. that concept is working together and their moto is respect. Everything at camp has to do with those things. They have group activities not 1 (one) person jobs. All of the tasks have to have communication. Meals are served family style and has a lot of food. KP people set the table and bring most of the food and all of the drinks. Everyone then comes in and sits at their own tables that are assigned to each classroom. Then each tables Hoper or Gofer gets the main entryway. After lunch and dinner the Hoper gets the desert. Breakfast is at 8:00am Lunch is at 12:00pm and Dinner is at 5:00pm, but sometimes it wasn't all the time right on schedule. |
The Trust Fault is an interesting activity. There is a tree with a board hooked onto it. There are huge staples in the side of the tree so you could get to the board. It was only about 5ft. above the ground. 1 (one) person gets on the board. then stands facing the tree wile the other people in the group forms a position called "The Zipper", so they could catch the person. Then the person that is falling says, "Spotters ready?". Spotters say, "Spotter ready," .Falling person says, "Falling" . Spotters say, "Fall away," .Then they fall and the spotters catch him or her.
Camp Collins is a fun place to be. I had a wonderful time. It was very hard for our group to corporate at first, but at the end we corporate just fine.
CAMP FIRE TIME!

I had a lot of fun at Camp Collins and that is why I am here to tell you about. I Picked the camp fire because that was the funnest. I am going to list three reasons why the camp fire was fun and neat to be at.
First reason that I liked the camp fires because of the funny skits that people made up in just 5 days and they were great and very humorous. That was the first reason why I liked the camp fire.
Second reason that I liked the camp fire is of the songs because a lot of people thought that the songs were really cool and so they went on stage to sing and dance and plus every body got a chance to go on stage and if they didn't wont to then they didn't have to.
Third reason why is because of the pretty fire especially when you look at it very closely. Every body had lots of fun even me.
I can't believe how much fun it was to go to outdoor school camp and plus have a camp fire right next to us and I hope that you had fun to!!!!
At the Beach

When my class was at camp I went to the coast only for a day though because the weather was so bad . At the coast there wasn't much to do , we couldn't go on the beach because of the weather so we stayed in the hotel most of the time and got in the hot tub . When we got home, Friday I mostly watch the Portland Trial Blazers loose badly to the San Antonio Spurs in the 3RD game of the Western Conference Finals.
Then on Saturday I called Tyler's and asked what camp was like , he said it was ok . Then I watched the Eastern Conference Finals, the Knicks take on the Indiana Pacers at Madison Square Garden in New York. It was a great game because it was a very close game at the end but with about 9 seconds on the clock Larry Johnson of the Knicks pulled up for three and made it wile getting fouled by Pacer .So Johnson went to the free through line to win the game, he made it and the Knicks won 92-91.
Then on Sunday I just watched the Blazers get swept by the Spurs 80-94.
Camp Collins

The first day we got there.
We first got all of our stuff off the bus. Then walked up one trail and down another trail. The boy's camp site was closer then the girls camp site. Well anyway when we were settled we went to the flag pole. We got in the dinning hall, and called out names of the study groups because they changed the study groups . We first went with a counselor named Angela for a tour of the camp. She showed us the running water bathrooms. She even showed us the camp fire. Then she took us to the corral so Mr. Knight could talk to us. He told us to make a circle. Then he said "You are the biggest group to ever do this so quickly. Well done, give yourselves a hand." Then we went back up to the flagpole and grabbed our lunch sacks and went back to the cabins and ate.
We had 12:00 to 1:00 to finish lunch and do anything else we needed to get done. At 1:00 pm we went back to the flagpole to go to the next spot. We went with another counselor named Spider. Me, Lorna, Sammy, and Monmon all felt bad for him to have such a weird name. Then he said your going to be playing life and death. Life and death has to do with herbivores (green head band 10 lives) omnivores, which eat plants and meat (blue headband 5 lives), and carnivores which only eat meat (red headband no lives). Herbivores have green headbands because they only eat grass. The lives are the rubber bands that you p8ut on your wrists. Herbivores have 10 lives because they can't hunt they only eat plants. Omnivores are blue head bands. They only have 5 rubber bands because they do eat meat but they also eat plants. Carnivores have read head bands and no lives because they eat meat and only meat. The only thing that could take their rubber bands that they got was the Hunter. He could get rubber bands from everyone.
It was so much fun at camp!
