The Trip to Camp Collins
by Tyler
Last week my class and I went to outdoor school at Camp Collins. The bus was loaded with kids ands and camping gear.
Once we got to camp we talked to friends for a bit then we met the camp instructors. After that we went on a tour of the camp site. Next we went to our cabin to put our gear away, and we ate our sack lunch.
After lunch went down to the corral to play tag games for an hour and a half. Next we went with Spider to play Life or Death, it was cool. Then we went to our cabin to rest for a bit.
Then we had dinner, I think it was ''spaghetti.''
The next day we had breakfast and we played Life or Death again. Then we had lunch. After lunch we did more activities and had dinner. After dinner we had the DARE graduation.
The next we had breakfast. We did one activity, had lunch, and packed up.
When we left I was glad cause I couldn't wait to tell my parents.

We arrived at Camp Collins Wednesday, June 2. We unpacked the busses and went to are cabins. We got in and had lunch. For lunch everyone brought their own sack lunch. I am going to tell you what we had to eat.
The first day at Camp Collins we had our sack lunch. For dinner we had spaghetti. With the spaghetti we had salad, rolls, and broccoli and cauliflower. It was good but I though the rolls tasted kind of funny.
The second day at Camp Collins we woke up and went to breakfast. For breakfast we had pancakes. with the pancakes we had sausage and apples. For lunch we had tomato soup. With that we had rolls with cheese, salad and crackers. For dinner we had meatloaf. With the meatloaf we had salad, rolls, and vegetables.
The last day at Camp Collins we only had breakfast and lunch. For breakfast we had scrambled eggs with ham in them and little chopped up potatoes. We had oranges with them also. For lunch we had sandwiches. You could have had peanut butter and jelly or tunafish. With the sandwich we had potato chips.
I thought Camp Collins was a lot of fun. I thought it was fun because you got to do different games and activities. I also thought they had good food. My favorite was the sausage.

This is an essay about Camp Collins. There will be three activities. First the rock climbing, the food, and the Spider web.
First the Rock Climbing. It was hard cause there wasn't many things to grab, but there was a lot to put your feet on. The thing that got put around my waist was very uncomfortable.
Second, the food. The food was pretty good. My favorite was probably the sausage and pancakes. Second favorite was probably the eggs and ham and the salad was really good.
Third the Spider web. Luckily we had a lot of little people so we could lift them up easy. So we put the light and short people through the top ones. Then we put the tall people through the bottom.
I liked writing about Camp Collins.

A few days ago the whole sixth grade went to a camp called Camp Collins. It was really fun. Here are 3 reasons why it was so fun, 1 the food was good, 2 the cabins were great and 3 the activities were fun.
The food there wasn't that bad even the spaghetti. I was very surprised about having good food. My favorite meal was pancakes and sausage. There wasn't a meal that I didn't like. I thought I would go hungry for 3 days.
The second reason I had fun was The cabins were really cool. in fact one of my favorite times of the day was cabin time. you could really get to know your cabin mates. and you could run around the trails.
And my third and final reason is the activities were really fun one of my favorite was rock climbing the wall you climbed was about 30 feet tall and we had to climb it. another thing we did was a rope swing activity where you had to get your whole team across a line on the rope.
I had a really fun time at camp, and I hope I will get to go again sometime this summer.

Camp Collins: Spider

At Camp Collins, everyone worked together. The staff helped it stay that way, but it was us that made it work. There were many staff members at camp but my favorite was "Spider" .
"Spider was his middle name. It was also his nickname. So the whole time everyone was calling him Spider. He was very helpful, funny, and thoughtful. Thoughtful meaning thought of really cool games for the students from Peterson and the few students from Sauvie Island to play.
One of the games he taught us was "Life or Death". There were Herbivores which were plant eaters and could be killed by Omnivores, Carnivores, and the hunter. Omnivores, meat and plant eaters, were killed by Carnivores and the
hunter. Carnivores, meat eaters, were killed only by the hunter.
Spider was a really funny guy. I think everyone who was at camp liked him the best (other than Kiwi, who had an awesome accent).
Camp Collins was a great place to visit and to spend the extra money from the humanities fundraiser. After all, I couldn't have thought of a better place to go than Camp Collins. Thank-you.

I'm glad, I liked the way they have the cabins: west, East and rotary villages At camp I was surprised on how they put us into study groups. I thought I would stay with one activity counselor for all three days but I was with four counselors in all: Karan, Angela, Spider, and Mike. The food there was much like at school except the Gopher that go gets the food.
The villages are apart connected only by a walkway and an open space. There was a cafeteria and an artroom that we didn't use.
The East and West villages are newer than Rotary. The rotary was the fillover villages.
The lunch room was where I had Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. There were three tables for our class: Girls, Boys, and fillover table.
