Against All Odds!
Against All Odds is about the Mormon pioneers who crossed the great plains in wagons. There are lots of stories in the book. They are short but there are 11 of them. Including
Strange Bedfellows, Buffalo Tag, Bloody Finger, Savage Samaritan, Iron Lady, Horse Raid, The Broken Man, Hostage Baby, Killer In The Hen House, Don't Judge A Horse By Its Hide, and She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not.
The genre of the story is non-fiction. The story is true but the characters are different people in real life. I picked this book because it looked like a good book, and because somebody that I know told me about it.
I don't know about you, but my favorite story in the book is probably Strange Bedfellow. I will tell you a little about it if you haven't read it yet.
The pioneers have not reached Utah yet. The pioneers just settled in for winter at the winter quarters. They built their homes in a dug out.
One of the families built their home on a snake pit on accident. It wasn't just a snake pit it was a rattle snake pit. When the winter goes away the snakes come out. the family kills al the snakes and give them to the Indians.
You need to read this book if you want to know what the other 10 stories are about.
