World War II
In my essay I will tell you how World War II started, the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and how the war ended. That is what I will tell you about in my essay.
After World War I, many countries joined together to try to prevent future wars. However, Mussolini, Hitler, and Tojo weren't about to discuss their problems. That is because they wanted to take control of land outside their boundaries. During the 1930's Japan invaded Manchuria, part of northern China, and Germany took over Austria and Czechoslovakia.. On September 1, 1939 the German attacked Poland. After the German attack France and England declared war on Germany. That is how the war started.
On December 7, 1941, over 350 planes from Japan carried out on a surprise attack Pearl Harbor. In minutes the United States naval base was in flames. When the raid ended, nineteen ships were sunk or damaged.. Also about one-hundred fifty planes were destroyed. In result 3,600 people had been hurt or killed.
On August 6, 1945, an American plane dropped an atomic bomb in Japan. The atomic bomb killed almost 78,000 people. Then on August 9, 1945, the U. S. dropped another bomb. In result to that bomb at least killed 40,000 people. From both bombs almost 118,000 people died. On August 14 Japan surrendered.
I hope you enjoyed reading about how the war started, bombing Pearl Harbor, and how the war ended.
