World War II
World War Two was the most thrilling war ever! Do you want to learn more? I'm going to tell you about the great surrender. The enemy was called Axis, the countries in it that I'm going to tell you about are Italy, Germany, and Japan.
The American soldiers decided to finish this war, once and for all. We raided and attacked Italy's cities until there was barely anything left. This made the Italian government practically fall apart. They couldn't take it anymore and they were the first to surrender.
Then we went after Germany. We bombed their cities and made them weak. Then we invaded their cities and attacked. Then finally they could take no more and surrendered, but just before the surrendered Adolf Hitler (the man who started this war) committed suicide.
Now all that was left of Axis was Japan. They refused to surrender so President Harry Truman had to make the most difficult decision of his life. To drop the atom bomb, it was the first ever nuclear weapon. He diced to drop it on Hiroshima, Japan, then Nagasaki, Japan. One hundred and eighteen thousand people died and finally Japan surrendered.
That was the great surrender. I told you about Axis, Japan, Germany, and Italy and how they surrendered. Do you think World War 2 was thrilling?
