January, 2002 How Blacks Were Treated by Katie Have you ever wondered how blacks were treated and why they were used as slaves? Well right now I am going to tell you about some of that stuff. First I will tell you why whites mistreated blacks. Whites would mistreat blacks because blacks had a different skin color. So whites would spray blacks with a fire hose, sic dogs on them, and they would burn their houses down on top of all that. Next I will tell you about why the were used as slaves. It was all because of their skin color. Which I think was wrong because blacks couldn't do anything about it. Which I think is just plain wrong. Last I will tell you about how things were in public areas. Blacks would have to sit in the back of the bus, they would have to drink out of a different drinking fountain then whites, and wouldn't be able to use the same bathroom as whites. I hope you just learned a little about How Blacks were Treated. Like why the whites would mistreat them, why they were used as slaves, and how things were in public areas.
