Sam's Page

I'm Samantha, but I prefer Sam. Not Sami and not Samantha, please. I'm eleven-years-old, dark brown eyes, glasses, and really weird hair that's kind of poofy, so I use a lot of hair gel.

I live with my mom who doesn't really like outdoor stuff, my dad who is a "computer geek", my little brother, Kevin, who is an alien, and our two dogs, Ginger and Dutch. We also have two rats, named Harriet who I named after the oldest Galapagos tortise, and Lara who my brother named after the video game heroine, Lara Croft. I also, sort of have an ostrich. You see. I had a friend in New York, my homestate, and he lived on an ostrich farm. So for my brithday, he gave me one of his ostrichs. No, the ostrich doesn't live with us, she's still in New York with my friend.

Due to all the pets I have, I think you have noticed that I like animals. But I don't like them, I LOVE them! Especially apes and monkeys. I also like kayaking, right out on the Columbia River. I'd like to do some camping, but since my mom isn't a real outdoors type of person, I have only gone camping once in my backyard. Besides camping, I'm interested in going to Africa. It seems like a great place to study animals since I want to be a primatologist when I grow up.

This year, my main goal is to improve in math. I have always done O.K. in math, but I can still do wat better than I am now. I still need to work on that long divison. Other than that, one fun thing my class could probably do is a play. But I probably would rather be the camera person and film the play, or do the sound effects. I have a lot of trouble getting up in front of tons of people, I get so nervous I shake. Maybe I could improve in that to.

All in all, I have told you, whoever you are, if you are somewhere nearby, or all the way on the other side of the world, I have told you about me, my the people I live with, my interests, and my goals for the school year 2001-2002.
