The Fountain and Park

In this report I am going to talk about the fountain by the city hall. In 1875, the fountain was not even being constructed, even though the park was doing well. The reason I think that the fountain was not built was because they had not yet discovered how. In 1910, the fountain was ready to open with a group of spectators to watch. The park was blossoming with more trees.

In 1935 the fountain was still going brightly, while the park just had some grass removed for the walk ways for the people. Then in 1955 the fountain still going very well, even though a lot of people were dressed in dark clothes. The park was heavily dusted with a blanket of snow, while footsteps were through the fountain.

Then in 1970 there was a huge change, the fountain was very dry with a lot of wasted garbage in the pool of no water. Then the park was no better, litter everywhere, graffiti, writing everywhere on walls, no grass at all, and just the whole thing wrecked. In 1980, the pollution was no better, the water fountain still trashed with even more stuff in it. The fountain was as dry as a bone. It was probably this way from the Vietnam War with all the riots going on. The park was just the same dirty thing. Then finally in 1990, the park was clean and the water feature/fountain was going great. The park had grass again.

I think in 2005, that the fountain will still be there with a very clean atmosphere around it. And for the park, I think that there will be more trees, and more grass. In this report I felt a lot of emotions mostly from the Vietnam era, with all the graffiti. I am glad the people got the fountain back to working.

As you can see, the park and fountain has changed a lot over the years, drastically during the Vietnam War, and over those years.
