Mrs. Huffman's Math Class
New Providence
I studied the middle of the picture. There wasn't much change over the years. All of the same stuff were mainly there, but there still was a few changes. Here are the changes.
In 1875, all they really had was a courthouse, graveyard, a statue, a house, a fountain, some benches, a fence, some bushes, a stone wall, and a church.
In 1910, they had Getz & McClure, New Providence, apartments, a gazebo, cars, streetlights, trees, a house, a few benches, a fence, and a statue.
Now in 1935, New Providence had Getz & McClure, New Providence Bank & Trust Co., a hardware store, a dance studio, cars, statues, a church, a store called Andy's, graffiti, some streetlights, and some trees.
During 1955 it was Christmas time, so the things include a big Christmas tree, a star, and snow. Also there was Getz & McClure, a fence, cars, Dickson Bros. Hardware, New Providence Bank & Trust Co., a big horn, and some graffiti.
1970 brought Getz & McClure, some graffiti, a van, a truck, some trees and bushes, a spring sale, 2 signs, some newspapers, benches, more streetlights, concreat on the ground, and New Providence Trust. All this stuff was there probably because of the Vietnam War.
In 1980, Getz & McClure have an 100th anniversary sale. There is still the New Providence Trust, more graffiti, some ads, a limo, a van, other cars, trees, a horn, a minature skatepark, Monarch, and some streetlights.
Last but not least, we have 1990 which has Getz & McClure, a greenhouse, New Providence Bank & Trust Co., a gazebo, trees, a truck, more cars, a fence, streetlights, people, and a house.
That is all the changes we have had in the past 115 years. I think that 2015 will bring better technology, battery-powered cars, more graffiti, new stores, and not as many trees and bushes.
