New Providence Report

I have been looking at the right side of the picture of New Providence.I am going to talk about the buildings and people that has changed over the years in the pictures.

In 1875 there were people in black clothes all over the place and there were some kids playing with a hoop. They had horse-drawn carriges that used a dirt road, a train, a boat, some farms, and water pumps on the road. some of the buildings there were the courthouse, book store, houses, the real estate building, a factory, "MLP and Sons", a diner, and lamps.

In 1910, people still wore black clothes and still had horse carriges. They had some cars, shades over their windows, power lines, a park, some farms, and a water tower. They also had the same courthouse, a loan office, a law office, an office supplys store, a talor, a statue being built, houses, and some big buldings.

1935, the time of the depression. Some buildings there are the post office, the courthouse is still standing, the old factory is still there, the water tower, the laundrymat, a dance studio, a talor, a hardware store, and "Western Central". The people still wear black clothes, they don't have horse-drawn carriges anymore, they have more cars, a fountain, a statue, some billboards, the park has some concrete, an old bi-plane, and farms.

In 1955 (this is a scene of the winter) there is an asphault road and the people still wear black clothes. There is a house selling X-Mas trees, some cars, the water tower, cigerett ads, a statue, some firetrucks, and A FIRE!!! Some buildings are the houses, the courthouse, "Western Central", some stores, a factory, and "Dickson Bros. Hardware".

In 1970 they changed a lot of stuff. First of all, the war of Vietnam was going on. People were protesting about the war, there were hippies, people had colored clothes, cops, there were cigerett ads and beer ads, trash was everywhere, cars, a limo, graffiti, a plane, billboards, power lines, and people livng in allyways. Some buildings are the water tower, "Barry's Shoes", a statue, a factory, "Wesern Central", and some buildings for rent.

1980. Some of the buildings there is a tower being built, the courthouse has been standing 105 years, the old factory, "Monarch Insurence Co." the park's department, some big buildings, "Western Central" and a neighborhood in the background. The people are wearing colored clothes, they have cars, vans, policemen, a statue thats not yet complete, some scateboarders, sighns, a faded "Coca Cola" sighn, power lines, a few plants, and a loud speaker on the building near the park.

1990. The people had a fountan, flowers, a rooftop garden, some street lamps, a statue, some tables and benches were by the park, trash cans were all around, a train, cars, and they have concreat in the park(no grafitti!). SomeBuildings in the area are: The arcade building, a little house, a greenhouse by the park, the courthouse(wich has been standing for 115 years), and some buildings that are probably apartments.

I have also made a guess at what the year 2015 will be. There probably would be another war(because of the September 11th event), people might have moved to a safer town so buildings might be run down, there might be fighter planes flying around, cars(whats left) will probably run on electricity or water, there might be policemen around, the courthouse might be in ruins, the park might not be there, there might be an airport and lots of stray animals and wild animals, and maybe billboards advertising for beer and cigarettes, and abandond building sites all around.
