The Medicine Trip
A long, long time ago there lived a girl named Jamie. She lived with her mother and father Margie and Phil in a little cabin in the woods. She was an only child. They lived in a little town called Mariposa. Now there had been a sickness going around that everyone was catching. But her family had not caught it yet. The only cure for it was a medicine called Hipothurmia. They were getting all their supplies from Canada. After a while her dad caught it and her was very, very sick.
A couple weeks later they ran out of the medicine. So they called to get another supply but they were all out. Jamie's dad was doing just fine until they ran out. New he was getting worse. The doctors called every where but no one had it. Jamie and her mom were very worried. "Mom," Jamie said. "Yes hunny." "Do you think dad is going to die?" "I don't know sweetie I don't know."
Later on that day Jamie's mom got a phone call from one of her friends who also was sick. Ring, ring, ring.
"Hello," Margie said. "Hi," said Martha. "How are you doing?" "I'm doing OK I guess. I was calling to tell you that they know where to get some more medicine." "Well that's great!" Margie said. "There's a problem though. See while they were trying to figure out who had medicine the doctors got sick!" "Oh no!" Margie said. "So where did they find more medicine at?" 'Well, while they were looking they got a telegram from a lady in a town called Scappoose in Oregon. They're looking for anyone who will go." "Well I got to go talk to you later, Martha, bye."
"Hi mom," Jamie said coming in from outside. "Who was that on the phone?"
"Martha," mom said. "What did she want?" So Mom told Jamie everything. "Mom, I know who can go!" Jamie said excitedly. "Who?" "Me," she said. "No, I'm not letting you go."
"But Mom!" "No! Now eat your dinner and go to bed."
So Jamie finished her dinner and went to her room. Jamie didn't think it was fair. So late that night she packed a few clothes, some food, and grabbed her piggy bank, then left. Jamie ran and ran until she was out of breath. She walked all night. In the morning she came to a little town called Sings Ville. She caught a train that went half way there. When she got off she sat down and ate some yogurt.
She started walking again when she saw and heard something in the bushes. She thought it was a cat but it sounded too big so she went closer. It jumped out it was a wolf. She screamed and ran as fast as she could. Then she jumped right over into the buses and didn't move. He sniffed and left. She was OK.
When she got to the next town she found a little diner to stop and eat. After she got a ticket to Scappoose. Finally she got there. She went to lady's house. Knock, knock, knock. "Hello," the lady said. "I came to get the medicine." "Oh yes," she said. "I'll be right back. "OK." When she got back she gave her the medicine. "Thank you." "You're welcome. Good bye."
So she caught the next train home. But would she make it in time? When she got off she ran as fast as she could. "Mon!" "hunny I was so worried!" "I got the medicine." She ran inside daddy take this. Her father got well and so did every one else.
They lived happily ever after.
The End.
