by SamanthaMii was having breakfast when the atom bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. A sudden, terrible light flashed all around. Violent shock waves followed, and building trembled and started to collapse. Mii was knocked unconscious by the flash, and when she woke up she saw fire. Her mother had her father, and they ran.
Fire was moving toward them at a terrible speed. They ran among piles of cracked roof tiles, over fallen telephone poles, and wires. Houses were burning on every side. They came to a river and crossed.
At last they reached the beach outside Hiroshima. They saw Miyajima Island across the water. Thinking that safety was not far away, Mii and her mother and her father fell asleep.
"Please, tell me what day it is," Mii's mother asked a man who was passing by. "It's the nonth," he answered. "Four days! We've been here four days?" Mii and her mother took Mii's father to a hospital.
Mii's father had seven wounds in his body, but they healed and he thought he was getting better. Then one day in autumn after the flash, his hair fell out and he began coughing blood. Purple spots appeared all over his body, and he died. Every year the people of Hiroshima write the names of loved ones who died on lanterns. Mii always writes "Father" on hers.
War
by RyanWar is bad for a lot of things. It kills people, animals, and homes. Also when your home gets blown up so does whatever's in it. I'm going to tell you a little bit about war.
War can wreck homes, kill people and animals. Also it can destroy cities, even countries.
Usually, in war there's fires also. That's a big obstacle for the people that live there.
Last but not least sometimes they use Atomic Bombs which most likely they die then or die from radiation sickness.
I hope you learned something from my essay, war.
War
by BrightonThey have to be very careful where ever they go. They could get attacked any minute if they wanted to. They don't know when they are going to be attacked so they have to be very, very careful.
In this story they tried to save the people without doing anything at all. They didn't have a hospital so, they used the school house for it. I don't know if someone was saved in a school with nothing else to do but do nothing and hope to die.
When they went back to their house they saw nothing but rubble, lots of it. I would think there will be nothing left if a bomb dropped on my house. I bet there will be nothing but rubble That's it!
Hiroshima
by DebbieI too think that the atomic war was a terrible thing. I think in this story Hiroshima No Pika the author was trying to tell us how awful war is. I also think the author was trying to tell us how the atomic bomb really affected the Japanese. The author was trying to make you feel the sadness of the story and how the Japanese felt about the war. The atomic bomb war was really bad because it killed a lot of people, it burned down the city. After the war people would get better, and then they would just get sick again and die. It also drove people mad like the lady who went farther and farther into the water and drowned. When the people who lived came back to the city they were left without a home. Well, that's why I agree with the author that war is a terrible thing.
Atomic War
by SamAtomic war is a bad thing. It usually happens when least expected, when you think you are safe. That is until it happens, and you possibly lose a loved one. But others can help from answering questions to giving shelter. You may remember when terrible things happens, so clearly, that you feel like you're there again. But when you remember, you hope it will never happen again.
