Camp Howard
As we pulled into camp I got a bad feeling. It was raining outside. I thought to myself, "Every time I go on a camping trip it rains." We got out of the bus and made a circle in the grass. Once we had made the circle we waited for our teachers name to be called out. "Mrs. Huffman's class go with Mr. Weebo and Pheff," said Teal.
Teal is the head guy at Camp Howard. He oversees everything. The boys had to go with Mr. Weebo and the girls went with Pheff. When we got in a group around Mr. Weebo we got our name tags.
When we got our name tags we started our tour of camp. Our first stop was the chapel thats where we would have our assembly or meeting.
"How come we meet in a chapel?" asked George.
In reply Mr. Weebo said, "Because we do."
After George got done talking we moved on. Our second stop was the campfire spot. By then a couple of us were moaning and groaning because we were hungry.
"Jessie don't get so close to the edge," cried Mr. Weebo.
"I won't fall off, I promise," called Jessie in response.
"Jessie get off," said Mr. Weebo. "OK," said Jessie.
When Mr. Weebo got done talking to Jessie we started talking. He told us that we would be singing songs and listening to stories at campfire.
"I'm hungry," I said. "When do we get to eat."
"After we got done with the tour," said Mr. Weebo.
As we moved on I got bored. It didn't seem like it was going to be very fun at camp. When we got done with the campfire spot we got our stuff. We had to carry our stuff along ways. We put it in Raven cabin. After that we had an assembly type thing. We learned a couple songs and learned what hosts and jump-ups are. The jump-up jets the food. The host gets a guest to sit at a table with them. After the assembly we ate. Thats when camp started to get fun.
