Field Day at Camp Howard
We had just arrived at Camp Howard yesterday and we were already having fun. But today was going to be the funnest day of them all! Today was field day. As our councelors lead us on the path to the side of the pool area we all were getting anxious. For today we were going aginst Kestrel cabin in the tug- of- love! As I waited for our names to be called I started thinking about how we should stand or what way to hold the rope.
When all of a sudden they called our names "Kestrel and Bear cabins" they said. We got up there and he blew the whistle. We pulled as hard as we could. As we were pulling Samantha started loosing her grip on the rope! We were dragging her! The councelers were cheering us on like crazy. They were yelling in our ear saying " you can do it " with all there might. I was thinking to myself one more pull just one more. So we did and
what do you know we WON!
Then we went to the sponge game. It was so fun! The object was to squeeze all of the water out of the sponge on the other side into the other bucket with your eyes closed!! Mel was first and she got all the water in the bucket. Then everyone else until me. I closed my eyes and ran as fast as I could. We won! We were on a roll!
The next game was a relay race. I thought this should be easy. But I was so wrong. It was so hard! We had to run to the other end of the field, pick up a floater bend down, stick it on our head, and spin around 5 times. I was so dizzy! Some of us were so dizzy that we fell down. That is one reason we lost. Another is because we couldn't find our way back!
The last game we played was ozzyssassy bopper. I kept thinking to myself "This better not be another spinning game!!" We got up there and she explained the game. This is what she said. You, she pointed at us are going to get in a circle and one person is going to run around your circle to gain points. You she pointed at the opposite team are going to get in a line and take the ozzyssassy bopper and go over and under with it over your head. When you get down through it as far as you can and say ozzyssassy bopper. Then switch. What in the world was she talking about?? I had no idea. So I thought to myself I'll just follow everyone else. But I guess no one on my team understood either because we lost and they won!
Field day was a very fun day. We played, ate, and had fun. Camp Howard was the greatest. So if you ever get a chance go on down to Camp Howard. Because I sure liked it.
