Math:
Math Skills classes. Begin the "Average Student" unit (statistics and measurement). Reading: Read "Scout's Honor." Write about humor and visualization in Reading folder. Answer questions #1-3 on p. 64 in complete paragraph form. Language Arts: Grammar unit: The Sentence. Subjects and predicates. Identifying fragments and run-ons. Spelling: Lesson 3 Spelling words will be tested on Friday. Next week is review week. Be ready for words from first three lessons. Social Studies: Complete Chapter 2 map skills. Test on Chapters 1 & 2 on Friday. Online resource: Archaeology: Interactive exploration of the stone age

Math:
Review math facts, basic operations, and geometry. Math placement test for sixth grade will be on Thursday. Reading: 1) Write a book report about the last, best novel that you have read. It can be a book read last year or over the summer. 2) Choose a novel to read for Thursday's Read-In! Language Arts: Write a short essay about yourself. Include an introduction and conclusion. Revise and edit writing with emphasis on vivid vocabulary. Begin learning to use the computer for word processing. Essay will be published to our website. Spelling: Copy Lesson 1 spelling list into your Spelling folder.
