Math:

Skills: Skills classes with 6th grade teachers.
Reading: Begin reading class novel. Individualized assignments.
Language Arts: Grammar unit: Compound predicates. Memorize list of 15 being and linking verbs.
Spelling:Review Lessons 4-6 spelling words will be tested on Thursday.
Social Studies: Begin Unit on Ancient Sumeria. Begin memorizing locations of countries on world map. Online resource for extra credit: Understanding Primary Sources: Hammurabi's Code of Laws
Science: Biomes Unit with Mrs. Olson. For online resources, see the parent's page.
Health: Final week to turn in Agenda for grading period.
Handwriting: Workbook and text pages. Copy poem of own choosing.

Homework:

Monday - Check to be sure you are caught up on all assignments! This is the last week of the grading period. Keep track of daily reading for Petersen's book drawing!
Tuesday - Be sure spelling is complete.
Wednesday - Share Agenda with parents and have it signed. Study Spelling for test and have spelling study sheet signed. Happy Trick-or-Treating!
Thursday - Don't forget Music Program at 7:00 p.m. in gym! Be in classroom by 6:45 p.m. No school Friday.

Reading: Reading about history: WWII. Activities to focus on learning to take notes, study, and summarize.
Language Arts: Grammar unit: The Sentence. Types of sentences. Complete activities in Writing text and workbook page on sentence types. Five paragraph essay on World War II will be used as benchmark worksample. Memorize list of 15 being and linking verbs.
Spelling:Lesson 6 spelling words will be tested on Friday.

Complete workbook page and p. 46 in text on vocabulary. Be prepared for a test on this selection on Friday. Related Art: make a presidential trading card.
