MY SUMMER FUN
Just last summer I went to Astoria with my grandparents. My grandpa loved to go out on his boat but then he sold it. Now he wishes he did not sell it, until he found a man who owns a charter office. A charter office is a place where you go to and pay to go fishing.
My grandpa and I became good friends with this man then the that is where the money comes in, the man asked me if I would work for him, I said yes. He said I would make a good deckhand, so he put me in training the next day with one of his other deckhands. My grandpa got the job of driving the boat.
The next day we went out on the boat. We went out at in the ocean at 5:00 AM. I got sick. the first day out in the ocean, but I was better the next day.
Every day I learned something new like gutting fish, baiting hooks, rigging up fishing poles, and clubbing fish.
My favorite part of the job was learning the responsibility of having a job and making money.
My boss wants me to come back and work full time for him next summer from May till September but I have not decided yet. He told me I would make $60.00 a day in the river and $80.00 a day in the ocean plus tips. I hope this story tells that I love to work and be responsible.
