Japan
I was in Japan when I was a baby. Many of my classmates already know that, but then they come up with the question of were you born there or do you remember any thing? I say "yes" but not a lot when I was a baby. They look at me puzzled, "Not much when you were a baby? How much do you remember?" I say not much. Only an old lady and when I burned my hand on the heater. They go "That's all." I go "No, that's not all. I have another story to tell." Just a few months a go I got back from Japan. One month to be exact. The whole new culture is the story you will hear right now.
"North West Air Lines Going To Japan Now Boarding" said a voice. It was our flight to leave the country as we said our good byes to our relatives, the pushing of Japanese immigrants stampeded us as we walked down the ramp. We boarded a 7-40-7 one of the biggest planes. We were shoved and hit in the heads by moving suitcases as we looked for our seats. I quickly slipped into the window seat thinking I would be able to see anything interesting.
About two hours into the flight we where over the ocean and I finally got bored of looking out the window. It was about dinner time now and the choices were Fish or Chicken both came with a side order of Drink of your choice, fruit cocktail, a roll, some pudding, and chocolate cake. After dinner they showed two movies. One was Face Off and the other was The night before Christmas. After that I started playing my gameboy, and not far after that my eyes started getting heavy and I finally fell asleep. Dead as a log.
When I awoke of the light it was brighter then day itself and I squinted my eyes as a stewardess asked me eggs or Udon noodles? I did not like eggs so I took the noodles and a cup of grape juice that came with chopsticks. I ate my breakfast and two hours later we landed at a Japanese air port where we hurried to get the suitcases and catch our flight. We boarded JSL,( an airlines name) and took off on a five hour flight to Fukoku. There it was night and snowing (thin not stick snow) as we waited for the Navy bus. It finely came and we got on and took off.
Two months later we moved in to the cho, a Japanese neighborhood, and there I visited two Japanese schools and one American school, Darby Elementary school. Also I experienced little digging machines that we called tonkatoys and totmymates made out of woven grass. And learned Japanese and how to read and write it. There the past year I was in 5th grade.
Two years went by and we moved in to base housing. There I saw a wild Japanese monkey. That year went by really fast and we got on to another airplane and flew home. On the way home we ate Beefsteak or Fried rice. I chose the rice and then we flew into L.A where we boarded Alaska Air Lines and flew to Seattle. Where we drove to Bangor Navy Base.
That was the most exiting and boring time of my life. But I enjoyed it a lot. I hope you enjoyed my story of my time in Japan.
