A-6 Considers . . . . (Continued)
Should Sixth Grade Be in Elementary or Middle School?
Sixth Graders
by CamilleSixth graders should be in with the middle school because they need to learn in sixth grade what middle school teachers are like. I will be talking about how they have a different teacher for each subject, how they get mixed in with seventh and eighth graders, and how long each class is.
The first thing is how they get different teachers for every class. I think that would help sixth graders by getting them used to having a different teacher so in seventh and eighth grade they are ok with it. It would also be easier for us, because the teacher wouldn't jump from subject to subject.
The second thing is that they would have seventh and eighth graders in some of their classes. I think that would help sixth graders by helping them know how hard some of the seventh and eighth grade classes are and help them be more prepared for the harder classes when they are in them.
The third thing is that they would have more work time for each subject. That would help because I don't think we get enough work time here.
My conclusion is that sixth graders should be in with the middle school because they would have a different teacher for every subject, they would have seventh and eighth graders in some of their classes, and they would have more work time.
Should 6th Grade Be in Middle School?
by LeroyI'm going to tell you why sixth grade should be in middle school. Because interscholastic sports, more work, A day and B day.
I think we should be in middle school. Interscholastic sports would get us more responsibility. And we would get to see what the other schools are like.
Plus we would get more work. And that would make us smarter. And we would get 4 teachers.
I think it would be cool if we got A day and B day. Because we would not get 8 class a day would be too much. Plus we would not see our buddy every day and go off.
I have told you why sixth grade should be in middle school. Because interscholastic sports, more work, A day and B day.
Why Shouldn't 6th Grade be in with Junior High?
by JessieI think 6th grade should be in with middle school. We are old enough to have more freedom, we are old enough to take notes and organize a planner, and I think we are old enough to go to different classes.
We are old enough to have more freedom. We are old enough to play games after school. I think we are old enough to go to dances.
We are old enough to take notes and organize a planner. We can keep all our work caught up. We will remember what work we need to turn in the next day.
I think we are old enough to go to different classes. I think we are old enough to switch classes and books without getting into trouble.
That is why I think we are old enough to be mid-schoolers. Because we are old enough to have more freedom, to take notes and organize a planner, and old enough to go to different classes.
Are Sixth Graders Ready for Middle School?
by Kyle F.I believe that sixth graders shouldn't be in middle school because there's too much homework and not enough exercise, they could get beat up, and there is too much responsibility.
The first reason why sixth grade shouldn't be with middle school is there's too much homework and not enough exercise. If there's too much homework kids will start getting behind in work and get bad grades. And if kids get bad grades they will not be able to participate in extracurricular activities like sports.
Secondly, the sixth graders might get beat up. Since the sixth graders would be younger than the seventh and eighth graders, the seventh and eighth graders might pick on them. Most sixth graders would be smaller than the seventh and eighth graders so they might get beat up because of that too.
The last reason is there is just too much responsibility. Kids will forget their work because they will have to get to another class in five minutes. They will also have to bring four or five books to and from school so they might forget one and get in trouble.
These are my opinions on why 6th grade shouldn't be in middle school. Remember kids will become discouraged from all the work, getting beat up, and all of the pressure. So if you want your children to learn and have fun, oppose schools that have sixth graders in middle school.
Should sixth Grade Be In with Middle School?
by Kyle A.I don't think should be sixth in middle school. Cause we need recess, there's no room, and there's not enough teachers.
First reason, I think eleven and twelve year old's should be in elementary school. Cause we still need recesses during school. The eighth and seventh graders would pick on us.
Second reason is there is no room. There is not enough room in the classrooms and in the halls. There would be too many kids in the halls in between periods.
The third reason is the number of teachers would be firce. There would not be enough teachers. There would be too many kids in one class.
That's why I think sixth grade should be in elementary cause in middle school is it's to small, there's no room, and not enough teachers. That is my thought. What's your thought about sixth grade being in middle school?
6th Grade
by Jonathan
It would be hard, hard work for students, no kitchen so there is bad food, and parents paying for the bad food. Those are the three things I am going to tell you about. First is hard work for students. Second hard work for the teachers. Third is the food and paying for it.
The hard, hard work for the students is wrong. They would have no play time after homework because they think we can do 7th grade work. They would give you more work. We need to exercise after homework.
It would be hard for the teachers because of the work they would have to do with all of the kids. There would be 6th and 7th graders in the same class. They would spend there nights correcting papers.
WOW! That is nasty. They have rotten food because they have no kitchen to cook fresh food to eat. The parents shouldn't have to pay that much for a rotten lunch. I have told you why 6th graders should stay in elementary school for another year. My first was, the hard work for students, second, the hard work for the teachers, and third, the rotten food and the prices.
Elementary or Middle School?
by AshleyShould 6th grade be with the Middle School? I think sixth grade should not be in the middle schools, because I think sixth grade should just switch a couple classes. Give us a little more socializing with our friends, and so we get into better study habits.
Switching classes and getting there on time may be hard. I think 6th grade should be for switching classes just a few times a day to get used to having to switch classes all day at the middle school. I also think 6th grade should be the grade to make sure we're responsible enough and get to different classes on time.
Socializing and not talking may be a little hard in middle school because we're so used to talking in elementary school. So 6th grade should have teachers that are strict and take away special privileges. Maybe if teachers were like that there wouldn't be any problems.
Getting used to studying lots more may be hard for some of us. 6th graders need to be more responsible. 6th graders should learn to study and be more responsible. Most 6th graders aren't very responsible. They need to learn to study and keep track of things.
I hope you have learned a little something about why I think 6th grade should not be in the middle school. It should get 6th graders ready for switching classes, only having one recess and a couple of breaks, and lots of study habits. Do you think 6th grade should be in the middle school?
Should 6 Grade Be in Middle School?
by IvanI think 6 grade should be in middle school cause they have interscholastic sports. We are old enough and there are different teachers.
Interscholastic sports you get to play against people that you don't know it is also harder to play against people that you don't know.
We are old enough. Other kids get to go to middle school in the 6 grade. We are smart enough to remember are locker numbers to.
Different teachers. You will more with more than one teacher. You can switch classes instead of staying with the same teacher.
6 grade should be in middle school. They have interscholastic sports, we are old enough, and we can have different teachers.
Should 6th Grade Be With the Middle School?
by RachaelI think 6th graders shouldn't be with the Middle School. 6th graders need recess to play and exercise and be happy. We 6th graders aren't ready to take on interscholastic sports, and we are also not ready to have a different teacher for each individual subject.
You have to remember we are still kids and need recess to play, be happy and exercise. We need time away from class. In class we can't talk to our friends, but at recess we can talk to our friends. I think recess should be longer, don't you?
In Middle School there are interscholastic sports, and 6th is too young to play on a school sport. We still need time to practice so we will be good at interscholastic sports.
Since we are still kids, we need one teacher to get used to, not switching to a different teacher for each subject. With some kids, they need time to work on many subjects with only one teacher. So I think that we should be just fine with only one teacher.
So as you see, we aren't ready for Middle School in the 6th grade, and need recess to exercise, play and talk to our friends. We still need intermural sports to practice for interscholastice sports, and only one teacher for every subject.
So I ask you this, should 6th graders be with 7th and 8th in the Middle School? I don't think so, but you decide.
Why Aren't 6th Graders in Mid-School?
by MaddieWhy aren't 6th graders in mid-school? Well, we should be. If we were in mid-school we would have more freedom for personal rights, we'd learn more, and we wouldn't have to sit in the same classroom every gosh darn day.
If we had more rights we'd probably have better attitudes. Well, I would at least. Another reason why is because in between classes we could get pop. I mean I don't really want to drink water all day long. Also we could have lockers. Sometimes we want to take personal items to school to like show them off and stuff.
Second of all we'd learn more. I'm not too worried about this part myself, but I do think that we need to learn more. We'd have more class time in mid-school because we wouldn't have recesses. I have a cousin who's in 6th grade and she's in the mid-school out in St. Helens. Well, she knows so much more that a lot of us do. Her 2nd lowest math class is like our second highest. The other thing is in the mid-school some teachers won't even take late papers. That really bugs me.
Last but not least we wouldn't have to sit in the same classroom every gosh darn day. We would have assorted classrooms. Like A day or B day. Also we need different teachers for different personalities like say a teacher is very mean, well, their student is probably going to be mean and vice versa.
So that's why I think we 6th graders should be in mid-school because we'd have more freedom, we'd learn more, and we wouldn't have to sit in the same classroom every day. Do you think we should be in mid-school?
